Journal of Shoulder Joint Replacement Surgery publishes case reports, series, image articles in the field of shoulder arthroplasty and joints reconstruction. In shoulder replacement surgery, the damaged parts of the shoulder are removed and replaced with artificial components, called a prosthesis. The treatment options are either replacement of just the head of the humerus bone (ball), or replacement of both the ball and the socket (glenoid). Several conditions can cause shoulder pain and disability, and lead patients to consider shoulder joint replacement surgery.
In view of the changing market and procedures, this journal is a source of reference and research for the development of these new technologies and practices. With the changes in healthcare and the move towards value-based medicine, there is also a need for more outcome studies focused on upper extremity arthroplasty. These studies will be required to ensure reimbursement for arthroplasty procedures and care. The journal publishes educational Case reports as well as Review articles, Case Series, Clinical Images, Video Surgery Case Reports and meta-analyses will be welcomed. Topics covered include fractures, dislocations, diseases and injuries of the rotator cuff, imaging techniques, Osteoarthritis (Degenerative Joint Disease), Rheumatoid Arthritis, Post-traumatic Arthritis, Rotator Cuff Tear Arthropathy, Avascular Necrosis (Osteonecrosis), Severe Fractures, Total Shoulder Replacement, etc.
